Antibes, situated between Cannes and Nice, is a beautiful old town founded by the Greeks in 300 B.C, where the climate is pleasant all year round. Picasso lived and worked here for many years, and you can visit the famous Picasso museum in the old town, exhibiting several of his works. The old Antibes town has still the ancient protective wall where you can enjoy pleasant walks with a marvellous view over the Mediterranean. The narrow streets, alleys and squares of the old town feature many shops and restaurants. The stunning Marché Provencal market is a must-visit.
The modern Port Vauban, is one of Europe's largest private boat harbours with sailboats and yachts from all over the world, making Antibes a dynamic and international city that lives all year round. Antibes has the right train and bus connections, and you can quickly get around between the various towns on the Riviera. Nice International Airport is only half an hour away by car or train, and you can get to Antibes by the TGV express from both Paris and Marseille.
Juan-les-Pins
Antibes' closest neighbour, Juan-les-Pins is the seaside resort that was until the early 1900s a quiet fishing village and has today evolved into a "jet set" destination with casinos, luxury hotels and famous residences. Each year, the city hosts a world-renowned jazz festival where many international artists perform. Juan-les-Pins is also home to numerous nightclubs and a bustling nightlife as well as beautiful sandy beaches.
Cap d'Antibes
Cap d'Antibes is a lush peninsula with several beautiful beaches. You can walk around it in a few hours thanks to a stunning coastal trail from which you can get a glimpse of the fabulous mansions. At the very end of the peninsula is one of the most luxurious hotels in the world, the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.
